Marilyn In Manhattan - 4 stars out of 10

Marilyn In Manhattan - 4 stars out of 10

“Marilyn In Manhattan” explores the final days of the famed actress before her sad (and early) exit from this planet.  This documentary shows that there was much more to this actress than a dumb blonde, and her insecurities about the stereotype.  Nothing really stands out to make this a must-see documentary, but it certainly captures a Marilyn that we didn’t typically see on screen.  I was drawn to this film by the alleged conspiracy that is mentioned in the introduction, but the film goes by without truly revealing anything.  “Marilyn In Manhattan” is a good way to get a behind-the-scenes look at Monroe as she hangs out with celebrity and creates conflict in her relationships, but be prepared for a biographical feel instead of an expository piece on a newly revealed conspiracy.
